Specifications include, but are not limited to:Owner seeks construction services for renovation of approximately 50,000 GSF on Floor 7 of the Albert B. and Margaret M. Alkek Hospital (G7), at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center Main Building at the corner of Bertner Avenue and Bates Street. Project space consists of intensive care patient rooms, support spaces, family waiting, circulation and nursing areas. The scope of work will consist of: 1)Reworking the existing med-gas zones for phasing purposes of occupied floor 2) Reworking the existing HVAC zones for phasing purposes of occupied floor 3) Reworking the existing water zones for phasing purposes of occupied floor 4) ICU Patient room door replacement, replacement of existing charting areas in the patient corridors, including replacement of handwash sinks, wall mounted computer infrastructure and worktop 5) All room finishes to be replaced including millwork & re-cladding of existing cove lighting 6) Deleting the Med gas columns in all G7 ICU rooms and creating new headwalls 7) Elimination of toileting facilities within rooms and conversion of utilities to support in-room bed pan washer 8) Enclose all med-prep rooms. These rooms will be relocated within each inpatient pod. 9) Creation of Family Support Space to include showers, lockers, etc. 10) Reconfiguration of the “core” support rooms to improve space and functional allocation. These support rooms include staff locker / break room, offices, supply and equipment storage rooms, classroom, and others as shown on the construction documents. 11) This project will require 3 – 5 phases due to the floor being occupied during renovations. 12) Removal of existing Smoke Evacuation System infrastructure which is no longer in use. 13) Replace existing nurse station millwork and reconfigure for new layout. 14) Relocate selected Pneumatic Tube stations for new Nurse Station layout.
