Specifications include, but are not limited to:This Section outlines the scope of work included in the Building C Dorm floor 4 and 5 renovation project at the Texas Department of Public Safety Headquarters. Refer to the appropriate specification section for further information about installation methods and components to be provided. The drawings, shall serve as a part of this scope of work showing more detail on the intent of this project. The Contractor is responsible for including all means and methods necessary to complete this project. In general, the work includes, but is not limited to, the following items: 1. Provide new metal stud walls with insulation and gyp board as indicated. 2. Provide continuous blocking in dorm walls to mount cabinets as indicated. 3. Provide and Install new 1 hour fire rated metal frame jambs and solid core doors with lockable hardware and door closers on 4th floor. Hardware to match TXDPS standard. 4. Provide (2) doors of a 1 hour fire rating with closers in hall on 4th and 5th floors. 5. Provide (4) bi-fold doors to match existing on closets that are missing doors. 6. Provide new automatic door closer hardware on existing 5th floor hall doors. 7. Provide new solid core doors with passage hardware on the 5th floor at all bathroom doors to provide a lockable bathroom that meets egress requirements. 8. Modify existing ceiling grid and provide new tiles throughout as required. 9. Remove old ceiling grid from hallways and install new fire rated ceiling grid and tiles in the egress hall corridors to meet the half hour egress requirement. 10. Install metal stud and gyp board in locations where existing window HVAC units have been removed. Wall insulation and water proofing must be included as well. 11. Provide and install wire closet shelves/rods in all 5th floor closets. 12. Patch any holes in the existing gyp board walls in prep for finishing. 13. Patch and texture existing plaster as required from construction damage. 14. Replace broken 4th floor hall window glass with new glass insert panel.
