Specifications include, but are not limited to: Provide technical assistance to self-advocacy organizations within North Dakota. Expectations: Conduct specific technical assistance activities, which could include: Assisting with grant writing (or provide technical assistance on how to do it) and securing funding for self-advocacy. Supporting self-advocacy groups to develop by-laws and become incorporated as formal non-profit 501(c)3 organizations. Coordinate activities with the North Dakota Statewide Self-advocacy Network as this group works on providing a central hub for advocacy groups to come together and share thoughts, ideas, and information. Develop a web-based blog or online community to promote communication and sharing of resources. Work with organizations and members to effectively work with facilitators who provide support to the self-advocacy organization. Provide training and education to self-advocacy organizations and their members. Examples of training could include: leadership development, how to recruit and keep members, how to run a meeting, how to establish goals for activities for the group to work towards, etc.
