Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Contractor shall provide Medical Waste management services that comply with the requirements in the California Medical Waste Management Act (CA MWMA), codified into Health and Safety Code Sections 117600 to 118360 for: 2.1.1. Biohazardous (“red bag”) waste 2.1.2. Sharps waste 2.1.3. Pathology waste 2.1.4. Pharmaceutical waste 2.1.5. Chemotherapy waste 2.2. The Contractor shall provide or perform the following activities: 2.2.1. Provide suitable colored and labeled containers for each of the categories of waste listed in 2.1 and as required in the CALIFORNIA MWMA. 2.2.2. Verify prior to transport that Medical Wastes packaged by CCSF Facilities are acceptable for transport and meet US Department of Transportation (US DOT) and California Highway Patrol (CHP) requirements for transportation. 2.2.3. Transport of Medical Waste in accordance with US DOT and CHP regulations and requirements.
