Specifications include, but are not limited to:The Commercial Truck Driving Department has been in existence since 1980 at the SJCCD Central Campus. At present, the College’s fleet consists of seven (7) tractors and eight (8) trailers. The oldest tractor is twenty-seven (27) years old. The Commercial Truck Driving Department offers classes from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. A total of twelve (12) classes are offered each year and each class is two hundred forty-six (246) clock hours in length. The maximum size of the beginning class is twelve (12) students and the average class size is ten (10) students. 2. SCOPE OF WORK The scope of work shall include all necessary mechanical repair and interior/upholstery repair as determined and approved by the authorized College representative. The awarded vendor will gain exclusive rights to the repair of all SJCCD Commercial Truck Driving Department’s tractors and trailers except for the following repairs: 1. Minor repairs done by faculty and/or students. 2. Repairs made for educational purposes by the North Campus Diesel Technology department. 3. Repairs unable to be made in a timely manner. (Trucks cannot be off campus more than one (1) week. If repairs can be made faster elsewhere, they will go to next ranked vendor.) 4. SJCCD reserves the right to add to this list of exceptions, if deemed necessary. The vendor shall carry the following licenses, and proof of this documentation shall accompany the vendor’s submitted bid: 1. State of Texas Inspection Station License 2. State of Texas Vehicle Inspector License 3. MILEAGE The projected mileage each vehicle will accumulate in 2015 is approximately 30,000 miles. The approximate odometer reading as of October 2014 for each tractor is listed below. The average mile per gallon figure for each tractor is 3.7 miles per gallon.
