Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Medical-Legal Partnership (MLP) model serves as a method for legal and health care professionals to work together to improve the health and well being of vulnerable populations. The MLP model integrates lawyers into the network of care providers in the health care setting. This intervention is premised on the idea that a high proportion of low- income individuals face serious legal challenges that adversely affect their social, emotional, and financial well being. This MLP intervention consists of the following core activities: 1. Training health care provider and home visiting staff to identify and refer legal and social problems, which, if remedied, would improve participants health and wellbeing 2. Providing legal services to program participants to address social and legal problems, which, if remedied, would improve participants mental and social wellbeing and 3. Evaluating the MLPs impact on participants reported stress and social wellbeing.
