Specifications include, but are not limited to: Contract shall allow for flexibility to making changes to the location and pick up schedule. In the event there are subtractions in locations/frequencies (summer) or additional locations/frequencies (move-in week) we would like to adjustments in the location/frequencies within 24 hours. In the event we need to add dumpsters at a location for special events or move in week, we would provide a 15 day notice of the number of dumpsters needed by size, location, and duration. We would like the charge to be the standard dumpster charge stated above for the size of dumpster needed. • Contractor to provide all labor, materials, equipment and supplies necessary to provide recycling services. Dumpsters provided by the Contractor shall be equipped with workable lids and doors. Containers should be properly maintained and placed on level ground. Containers will have clear, legible, written signage permanently affixed to the dumpsters and have industry standard pictographs of what can be discarded in each dumpster at all times. Contractor will maintain signage and pictographs on containers throughout the duration of the contract. • In the event of contaminated dumpsters, contractor shall leave the location un-serviced and notify the UND Contact Administrator of the location of contaminated dumpster. UND will not pay an upcharge if removed by the contractor. • Contractor’s operators shall be responsible for the cleanup of all spillage that may occur in the course of making a pickup. UND Contract Administrator will complete periodic checks of pick up locations and when determined litter left was the result of the collection of refuse, the contractor will be notified and shall dispatch someone to the location(s) to remove the litter. • Contractor shall provide a monthly record of each category of recyclable weights, certified scale ticket is preferred. There should be a separate report for Housing and Academic areas. • Recycling from UND buildings is collected in clear bags and placed in the receptacle in the bag to avoid campus littering as well as aid the collection process. It is our intention to recycle at a minimum the following waste streams: PAPER and FIBERS Mixed Paper and fibers including but not limited to the following: White and colored ledger paper All computer paper All envelopes Fax paper Manila, white, & colored file folders Newspapers, magazines, phone books, Catalogs Slick or glossy paper (brochures & pamphlets) post-it notes Index cards, letters, cash register receipts, etc Bond, typing, and copier paper GLASS BOTTLES AND JARS Acceptable: Any brown, clear, and green glass container. PLASTICS All plastic types understanding that hard plastics, toys, bags, hose, oil containers, pipes, and Styrofoam are not allowed. ALUMINUM and METAL CANS Soda & food cans, scrap metal screw-on lids, aerosol cans, & empty paint cans. CARDBOARD Acceptable in cardboard dumpsters: Any type of cardboard with a ribbed layer in between, any type of box board (cereal boxes, tissue boxes, toilet paper rolls).
