Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Town of Chelsea, Vermont, is requesting proposals from qualified contractors for the installation of an 84” steel culvert to be purchased by the Town. The steel culvert is a 12 gauge culvert that will be installed under Town Highway #4 known as Williamstown Road in Chelsea. The culvert will come in three (3) sections together bearing total overall dimensions of 7’ height by 60’ length. This project will be partially funded by a VTrans Better Roads Grant Program. The necessary stream alteration permit is already in hand and the Town will notify Dig Safe. Contractor will be responsible for erosion control measures, labor, signage, traffic control, excavation and removal of existing culvert, installing new culvert, back filling and compaction in 12” lifts, using any suitable existing material and removing and disposing of any unsuitable materials.
