Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Successful completion of a training program consistent with AFTE guidelines at a recognized crime laboratory. 2. Has experience and has received training in shooting reconstruction. 3. Has experience and has received training in GSR/distance determination. 4. Has experience and has received training in serial number restoration. 5. Successful completion of all competency testing subsequent to training. 6. Minimum of ten years’ experience in firearms examination. 7. Court qualified as an expert in firearms examination. 8. Knowledge of industry standards. 9. Demonstrated oral and written communication skills 10. Demonstrated skill in using computers and related software applications. 11. Demonstrates ability to establish and maintain effective communications and working relationships with fellow employees, internal customers, and external customers. 12. Has experience in and is willing to do training of examiners and in service personnel.
