Specifications include, but are not limited to: Truckee Meadows Water Authority (TMWA) is accepting sealed bids for all labor, materials, equipment, and incidentals required for the Chalk Bluff Water Treatment Plant Inverted Siphon Access Road. The main source of water for the Chalk Bluff Water Treatment Facility is the Highland Canal. The dirt access road adjacent to the canal is built on unclassified fill at the top of an embankment. Approximately 300 linear feet of the road experienced tension cracks after the winter of 2016/17 and is in need of reconstruction. This project includes removal of the unclassified fill, securing the excavation adjacent to the canal with soil nails, processing the fill on site, and reconstructing the slope in engineered lifts using a geogrid stabilization system. Also included is armoring the finished slope with riprap. All work and staging will take place on TMWA property. Since the project site is adjacent to a canyon and close to the Truckee River, runoff control and erosion minimization will be a critical component of the Work.
