Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Burlington is seeking bids to provide construction services to assess the exterior administrative building wear, removal of failing building characteristics and rebuild within the limitations set forth by historical guidelines. The City is looking in general for the following tasks to be included in the proposal’s scope of work: 1) All Construction to be performed within specifications outlined by the initial scope keeping within historical preservation guidelines (Appendix A ) a. Assessment of porch roofing systems and removal of all failing characteristics. b. Replacement of roofing systems and siding within historical parameters. c. Assessment and replacement of East side siding d. Assessment and rehabilitation of East side windows and doors. e. Assessment of remaining exterior components and recommendations for future repair or replacement 2) Perform work in accordance with applicable rules, regulations, codes, and ordinances of local, state and federal authorities, and in accordance with the requirements of public utility corporations having jurisdiction over the work. 3) Obtain and pay for necessary permits, licenses and certificates and give notices as required during the performance of the work. 4) Coordinate work with CIP Manager to minimize discomfort and displacement of employees in both buildings, create best efficiencies possible. The building will be occupied at all times during this contract. 5) Evaluate the existing condition of materials to determine whether more than removal and replacement is required.
