Specifications include, but are not limited to: The hospital shall provide necessary system access to an awarded contractor. Given access, Bidder shall: a. Identify necessary analysis and start-up timelines and projected costs, as applicable, for conducting analysis and establishing interface with existing hospital pharmacy operations and systems. b. Provide a comprehensive “medication line order” definition upon which all charges for after-hours pharmacy services will be assessed c. Review and verify medication orders for appropriateness. d. Enter medication orders into hospital's Pharmacy computer systems based on Hospital's policy. e. Follow up with appropriate members of the hospital' s nursing, pharmacy or other medical staff to clarify any issues with the medication orders. f. Provide drug information to medical staff at hospital. g. Identify any additional services available and associated service pricing as part of bid submission Bidder shall provide regular utilization reports such as monthly interventions, monthly med orders, and daily end of shift reports that will be accessible to the hospital Pharmacy Director and pharmacy staff via a Contractor Reporting Portal provided by the hospital. Bidder shall provide Tele-pharmacy/Remote Medication order entry and verification for the following after-hours pharmacy services requirements and associated charges for: Monday-Friday: 4:3:00pm to 8:00am EST Saturday and Sunday: 8am – 8am (24 hours) Holidays: 8am – 8am (24 hours) Bidder shall provide reasonable written notice of any scheduled downtime or outages to the hospital. Bidder shall propose contingency plans for such periods to ensure continuity of after-hours pharmacy services. Bidder shall cooperate fully with the hospital Director of Pharmacy or designee to obtain and maintain, always in accordance with Hospital policy, unique user identification and password-protected access to the hospital’s Pharmacy System for each pharmacist provided as part of after-hours pharmacy services. Bidder shall outline its process for onboarding any pharmacist providing after-hours pharmacy services, including but not limited to, • Assuring all relevant background checks, required verifications, and confirmation of licensure as required by the State of Vermont Board of Pharmacy are completed • Providing for completion of security documentation necessary for pharmacist access to the Pharmacy System. • Training and certifying an after-hours pharmacist’s understanding and competence on the hospital computer system and hospital policies and procedures Bidder shall identify the processes in place and reasons for discontinuing an after-hours pharmacist, as well as, timely notification of the hospital, and removal of access to the hospital’s Pharmacy System. Remote access for the Contractor Pharmacists will be provided through the hospital Pharmacy's approved remote access technologies with redundancy back up provided by the hospital through VPN tunnel or mutually agreed upon option.
