Specifications include, but are not limited to: 2.1. All guardrail items will be of certified domestic manufacture. Fasteners will be certified as to specifications and not domesticity. 2.2. Guardrails and components must meet all appropriate sections of sections 700 and 728 of the 2006 Vermont Agency of Transportation Standard Specifications for Construction Section 700 and 728. These can be found at http://www.aot.state.vt.us/conadmin/Documents/2006%20Spec%20Book%20for%20Construction/2006Divi sion700.pdf. Please note. All work will be accomplished in accordance with the current Standard Specifications for the Construction Book at the time order is placed. 2.3. In addition a PDF file of guardrail standards may be downloaded as part of this RFP. 2.4. Orders will be placed by individual Highway Districts on an as needed basis (Locations of the various Districts are included in this RFP). 2.5. If shipments are being made to more than one district on the same truck, then the shipments must be packaged or containerized by District on the delivery truck. In other words, do not mix one District’s parts with another’s. 2.6. All hardware should be packaged in separate boxes. That is, bolts in one box, corresponding washers in another, and corresponding nuts in another box. We do not want to see nuts and/or washers buried at the bottom under a pile of other materials and parts. Please clearly label the bolt, washer and nut containers with the number of items in each container. 2.7. All parts for the terminal end units must be packed together, but separated by terminal end type. In other words, pack the M-1 parts together, the F-1 parts together, the F-2 parts together, etc. Additional, each terminal end part should be labeled as to what it is, as many parts look very similar. 2.8. The guardrail supplier shall notify the District contact person at least two days prior to making a delivery.
