Specifications include, but are not limited to: .) Contractor will prepare worksite to prevent any damages to existing walls, ceiling, floor, equipment, etc. Contractor shall immediately report any damages caused by Contractor’s employees to the CHP Project Representative or designee. The Contractor, at no expense to the State of California, will repair all damages caused by the Contractor or his employees. B.) Contractor shall, on the initial cleaning of the Multi-Purpose Range, completely remove and properly dispose of the existing media, properly recycle, and/or dispose of all lead and bullet fragments. Contractor shall replace media with “Super Trap, Inc.” or equal, media to be supplied by the CHP Academy. C.) Contractor shall remove the lead and media from the Multi-Purpose Range and replace media within five (5) business days. D.) Contractor shall visit all three (3) ranges every other month, filling the hoppers as needed and raking over divots behind static targetry, maintaining correct angle of repose. E.) Prior to the raking of, and during the cleaning of, the Multi-Purpose Range, Contractor shall remove debris, such as shotgun wads, shell casings, and target remnants. F.) Contractor shall physically sign in at the Range office with the Project Representative or designee, to arrange for servicing of the bullet traps. G.) Contractor is to remove all media from around outside of bullet traps at time of cleaning. H.) Contractor shall remove rubber media to base metal and ensure the hopper baffle is full. Contractor shall add rubber media as required using “Super Trap, Inc.,” or equal, granulated rubber. No chopped sidewall rubber will be allowed. I.) Contractor to supply and will treat all rubber with a dry fire retardant (Super Trap, Inc. ELIxIR lead immobilizer or equal). Contractor is to ensure equal distribution of retardant throughout the material, per manufacturers specifications. J.) Contractor to provide a level of cleaning approximately 98% removal of lead fragments. Equipment or method of cleaning should be able to remove lead fragments smaller than the size of lead shot #8.
