Specifications include, but are not limited to: The State intends to enter into an agreement for in-person Critical Thinking training designed for Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) Counselors. Training will provide staff with a detailed understanding of the rehabilitation process, and how to use critical thinking with a logical model to evaluate the effectiveness of their service delivery. The activities being proposed for this training program will be multifaceted and occur over a six month period of time to optimize the opportunities for learning. The proposed activities include: 1. Determine participants’ needs. The specific needs of training participants influence the development of learning objectives beyond what we have developed to date. This will also guide the choice of activities and training strategies. We will learn more about what participants want from the training by having them complete a brief, written survey at the beginning of the process. 2. Pre-workshop orientation. The training will begin once the registration starts. This will allow participants to begin to learn new concepts that will be refined in the workshop. Material will be sent by email. 3. Training of Management workshop. Most training workshops are divided into three key segments: an introduction, a learning component, and a wrap-up and evaluation component. The intent is to provide those in management the background in logic models and critical thinking in order to facilitate continued professional development among staff beyond the training exercise. 4. Formal Evaluation. The purpose of the evaluation is to determine the extent to which the training achieved its objectives and to identify what adjustments, if any, need to be made to the training design or follow-up process. 5. Training vocational rehabilitation counselors. The agency representatives will convene an opportunity for the trainer and the managers to implement a similar on-site training session with the VR counselors and related staff.
