Specifications include, but are not limited to: This Request for Proposal (RFP) is for the demolition and disposal of two cabins located approximately five miles south east of Lead, SD. The unused cabins are dilapidated and pose a safety risk. The cabins are located approximately 3.5 miles off of Hwy. 385. The two separate cabin structures need to be demolished and taken to a disposal location approximately 2 miles from the cabin sites. The State of South Dakota has conducted an asbestos inspection on both cabins and no asbestos material was found at either location. All material and debris on the property associated with the cabins including the foundations need to be removed and placed in the disposal site. Burning the cabins is not an acceptable method of tearing down and consolidating cabin materials. After all material and debris are removed from the cabin sites the ground where the cabins were located shall be leveled and sloped so there are no holes or uneven surfaces. Reseeding the disturbed ground is required. The cabins are constructed of wood, insulation, and asphalt shingles with concrete foundations. All of the cabin structures and debris on the cabin site need to be removed to the disposal location. Cabin debris capable of being moved by wind needs to be disposed off-site for disposal at a permitted solid waste facility. All work subject to the contract will be completed within a two week period within the four (4) month contract period.
