The scope of work includes but is not limited to the following items: The Contractor/Vendor shall be responsible for: Base bid (provide cost and estimated time to complete): Moving and shifting the Library book ranges to open up sections of the floor for recarpeting purposes, per floor plans and directions provided by owner. The ranges shall be wheeled out, with the books remaining on the shelves. This also includes moving map cases and filing cabinets located on the 2nd floor. Returning and repositioning the book ranges, map cases, and filing cabinets to original area for final placement according to the new ADA layout floor plan provided by owner. Contractor will remove the tie-in metallic rods that connect the different rows together and keep them on site for re-installation after the ranges are placed in their final location. If need be, due to the new ADA layout, Contractor shall provide extra tie-in metallic rods to ensure all ranges are properly connected and tied together. The present scope of work does not include the moving of the existing furniture, which will be done by USD personnel. Alternate (provide cost and estimated time to complete): The alternate includes the following: Tear down, transport from USD to SDSD in Sioux Falls, and rebuild 51 sections of empty ranges, approximately 2,150 lineal feet. All empty ranges are located on the 2nd floor. Move the following collections of unboxed bound books from USD to the newly installed ranges at SDSD. Congressional Records Set – approximately 655 ln. ft. Serial Set – approximately 1620 ln. ft. State Documents – approximately 950 ln. ft. Total – approximately 3225 ln. ft. The books are currently located at the south east corner of the 2nd floor in a partially enclosed area. Materials unable to fit on the ranges will be stored at SDSD as directed by USD library staff. Tear down and transport from USD to SDSD for storage the newly empty ranges located at south east corner of second floor, approximately 75 sections and 3150 ln. ft. SDSD is the South Dakota School for the Deaf, located at 2001 East 8th Street, Sioux Falls, SD, 57103. All work included in the alternate shall be coordinated by Library staff and USD Project Manager. The Contractor/Vendor shall be required to provide all labor, materials, equipment, and miscellaneous items as required for a complete installation. The Contractor/Vendor confirms that they have inspected the site where the work is to be performed.
