1. Contractors are responsible for taking their own field measurements. 2. Fertilizer should be made from natural ingredients. Weed Suppressant should consist of biological organisms and organic matter to strengthen the grass and weaken weeds. See details on page 3. 3. Contractors are strongly encouraged to arrange a time with the City Landscape Contractor or Park and Facilities Coordinator to visit and examine sites prior to responding. 4. Quotes must include the price of product, equipment needed, and labor required to apply organic fertilizer and organic weed control. 5. The City of Shaker Heights retains the right to re-bid, cancel the project, and select all or any portion of this RFQ. Fertilization & Weed Control: use additional paper if necessary A. Organic Fertilization– Fertilizer should be made from natural ingredients such as, but not limited to, Corn Gluten Meal, Soybean Meal, or Alfalfa Meal to provide 1 lb of Nitrogen from natural sources (no urea or synthetic organic sources) per 1000 square feet per treatment. Please describe product and type of application method for - how fertilizer will be applied, equipment used, liquid or granular. Also please provide product labels you will be using as well as product specifications – manufacturer’s product name and contents, MSDS sheets, website links, etc. B. Organic Weed Control/Suppressant – Weed Suppressant should consist of chelated Iron as well as beneficial biological organisms and organic matter to strengthen grass and weaken weeds such as clover, dandelions, and others. Synthetic weed killers with 2-4D must not be used. Please describe product and type of application method - how will weed control/suppressant be applied, equipment used, liquid or granular. Also please provide product labels you will be using as well as product specifications – manufacturer’s product name and contents, MSDS sheets, website links, etc.
