In the event a property or structure within the municipal corporation limits of Piqua is in need of General Contractor/Handyman work and certain nuisance conditions exist, it becomes necessary for the City to cause this work to be performed. Maintenance for all properties reported by the City of Piqua Community Services Department includes any work deemed necessary to maintain and/or properly secure the property. The following provides a typical list of services to be performed, though other similar services may be requested: • Boarding up and securing abandoned or vacant properties after a fire. • Removing falling gutters • Boarding up broken windows, removing broken glass from sites - Repairing damage on properties being held for future re-use, roof patches Work process will be as follows: • The Community Services Department reports to the contractor the property and condition requiring the work. • The contractor shall inspect the property reported and inform the Community Services Department of any additional work needed to complete the job that was discovered or not outlined in the initial report before starting the work. » For fire damaged/board up work, the contractor shall begin the requested work within 48 hours of notification. For other repair work requiring more planning, additional time will be allotted for communication with the Community Services Department. » Before/after photos will be taken and provided to the Community Services Department along with an invoice. • The Community Services Department may elect to perform a final inspection
