1. Legislative Advocacy 1. Advocate for Board approved legislative priorities. 2. Pursue and secure federal appropriations, grants, and funding opportunities. 3. Draft and support legislative proposals beneficial to the County. 4. Monitor, analyze, and report on federal legislation affecting the County. 2. Strategic Advisory Support 1. Provide regular updates during legislative sessions and committee weeks. 2. Advise County leadership on political and legislative strategy. 3. Prepare briefing materials, bill summaries, policy analyses, and potential fiscal impact statements. 3. Representation and Engagement 1. Represent the County before legislative committees, the executive branch and other agencies as necessary. 2. Facilitate communication with legislators, staff, federal officials, and stakeholders. 3. Arrange meetings for Board members and senior staff to meet with federal officials as needed or requested.
