Timber Type and Age: 1988 Slash Pine – 37 acres 1990 Slash Pine - 113 acres 1992 Slash Pine – 8 acres 1997 Slash Pine – 74 acres Type of Harvest: This sale consists of two harvest types. Area 1 is an unmarked logger select second thinning on 37 acres of 1988 planted slash pine. Area 2 is a third-row logger select first thinning on 195 acres of 1990, 1992, and 1997 planted slash pine. The purchaser will leave 50 square feet of Basal Area per acre of the largest, best formed trees in all residual stands. The logging slash will be scattered back through the stand. The DISTRICT PROJECT MANAGER will routinely make an assessment of the timber harvest to ensure the objectives are being met. Access and Boundaries: Loaded trucks may not use the bridge across Little Suwannee Creek. The timber sale area can be inspected at the bidder's convenience and can be accessed from Little Suwannee Road off of NE Benton Road in Columbia County, Florida. The harvest boundaries are shown on the map. Trucks will utilize roads and natural stand breaks.
