he City of Minneapolis’ Water Laboratory and operational staff perform analytical testing to monitor and optimize water treatment, to ensure compliance with Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) and EPA regulations, and to protect the public health of its 500,000 residents. This testing requires Type 1 grade water (A.K.A. Ultrapure Water) and Type 3 grade water (A.K.A. Reverse Osmosis Water) for feed and reagent water. The water laboratory currently utilizes a Type 1 grade water system and a Type 3 grade water system for feed water, but the existing water systems have reached end of life. They need constant repair, and the parts are no longer available. This is why we are seeking a new water purification system. Because of the significance of the work performed in the water laboratory having reliable Type 1 and Type 3 grade water systems is very critical.
