The project includes restoration of two existing water slides (one open flume and one closed flume) and surface preparation and protective coating of the galvanized steel slide support structure. Work shall be performed to ensure safety, durability, regulatory compliance, and longevity suitable for a public aquatic facility. A. Open Flume Body Slide – Blue Gel Coat – Interior (Including Runout) Remove failed or deteriorated coatings Perform all common fiberglass repairs within the ride path All repairs shall utilize vinyl ester resin Prepare interior ride path for gel coat application Add textured surface to start tub in accordance with aquatic safety standards Refinish interior ride path with premium gel coat Gel coat shall be applied at a uniform thickness of 20–24 mils Contractor shall verify gel coat thickness using a calibrated mil gauge and provide documentation upon request Recaulk seams as required (recaulking is not a guarantee to eliminate leakage and shall not be construed as a permanent structural repair) Seal seams using premium, aquatic-grade sealant Permanently Fiberglass One (1) Seam Owner will identify and label seam location Permanently seal and fiberglass over identified seam Prep and laminate seam using vinyl ester resin and 1708 biaxial cloth Fair seam with compatible vinyl ester fairing compound Apply premium coating over completed seam
