The County of San Mateo is seeking quotations for a digital microscope system to be used for firearms and toolmark evidence examination and documentation. The system must support rapid evidence processing, high-resolution image capture, and efficient workflow in limited laboratory space. Minimum Requirements: The proposed digital microscope system must meet or exceed the following minimum requirements: Physical Configuration Articulating or flex arm configuration suitable for use in rooms with limited space Stable mounting suitable for forensic evidence examination Optical & Imaging Capabilities Autofocus capability for rapid focusing during evidence processing Integrated laser pointer or equivalent feature to assist with precise item placement for photography Full HD resolution at minimum: 1920 × 1080 (1080p) Frame rates of 60/50/30/25 Hz Software & Operation Onboard image capture capability that does not require connection to a PC Ability to store captured images internally or via removable media Lens & Working Distance Lens system capable of supporting the following ranges (or equivalent): Magnification range approximately 1.7x – 53x when viewed on a 24” Full HD monitor Field of view range approximately 11 mm – 290 mm Lens-to-object working distance of approximately 250 mm
