Seeding and Mulching A. Seeding and mulching shall conform to Item 659 of the Standard Specifications, plan details, the proposal and these Supplementary Provisions. B. Two inches of topsoil shall be added to all areas to be seeded. C. Fertilizer shall be applied at a rate of not less than ten (10) pounds per 1000 square feet. Commercial fertilizer shall conform to the 12-12-12 designation. D. All seed used shall be approved by the State of Ohio Department of Agriculture, Division of Plant Industry, and a certificate to this effect shall be furnished to the Engineer by the seed supplier prior to seeding operations. E. Urban seed mix shall be used for all applications unless specified otherwise. F. Alternate seed mixtures may be used subject to the Engineer’s prior approval. G. Full compensation for seeding and mulching including but not limited to all labor, materials, supplies and equipment shall be included in the unit price bid per square yard of seeding and mulching and no additional compensation shall be allowed thereafter. H. Areas that shall be seeded are those areas disturbed by the construction within, but not limited to, the street right-of-way/easement limits, unless noted otherwise. Existing Sewer and Drain Replacement A. This Item shall include the furnishing of all labor, materials, tools and equipment to complete existing sewer and drain replacement as herein specified and as shown on the drawings. B. All existing sewers and drains which must be removed or are damaged during trenching or other operations, and not noted to be removed or abandoned, shall be replaced with new materials in a workable condition equal to or better than that found. C. Existing pipes, tiles, etc. in good condition and not damaged during removal may be re-laid upon the approval of the Engineer. D. Payment for replacement of sewers and drains will be made only for those not shown on the drawings or marked at the time of construction by the utility owner and shall be limited to the lines of measurement subsequently described. Replacement of sewers and drains shown on the drawings or marked at the time of construction by the utility owner and replacement of sewer and drains beyond the lines of measurement for sewers and drains not shown on the drawings or marked at the time of construction by the utility owner shall be made in a manner identical to that within the lines of measurement, but at the expense of the Contractor.
