The contractor shall cut down all trees three inches (3”) or greater in diameter within the areas specified in the attached exhibit, but also no more than 100 feet from the Route U existing edge of pavement. The tree removal work must be completed no later than March 31, 2026, to avoid violating environmental restrictions. The contractor shall coordinate the tree removal schedule with the MoDOT Maintenance Superintendent for this location and shall notify both MoDOT and property owners at least 48 hours in advance of mobilizing for tree removal. The contractor shall remove the trees as directed, by topping and cutting the trees down to within 2 feet of the existing ground line. All tree limbs, brush, wood, and other debris resulting from the tree cutting shall become the property of the contractor. The contractor shall be responsible for the removal of all tree limbs, brush, wood and other debris resulting from the tree cutting from the project site prior to submitting the final invoice for payment. MoDOT will NOT be responsible for clean-up, hauling or removal of any brush, wood or other debris produced by the contractor’s work. The entire northwest ditch is a jurisdictional stream that drains toward Tom Creek. The contractor cannot park, or store any equipment in, the ditch. Crossing the ditch should only be a single time if using heavy equipment. The contractor shall be responsible for any damage to the ditch while working on site and shall repair such damage prior to submitting an invoice for final payment.
