1. Contractor agrees to provide to the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) all labor, tools, equipment, parts, materials, supplies, permits, fees, travel, and incidentals necessary to replace 12 evaporative cooler units and install one (1) new mini split system as described herein. 2. The services shall be performed at Caltrans District 9 Equipment Shop, located at 181 Jay Street, Bishop, CA 93514, in Inyo County. Detailed Description of Work: A. Contractor shall decommission, remove, and legally dispose of 12 existing evaporative cooler units, controllers, and associated components (see Attachment A, Pictures). B. Contractor shall furnish and install 12 new horizontal draft wall-mount evaporative coolers, 12 new controllers, and all associated components in accordance with the following: 1) Main Shop Contractor shall install four (4) horizontal draft evaporative coolers, Phoenix Brand PMI Model H1425, or equivalent, with an output of 22,000 Cubic Feet per Minute (CFM), each equipped with a two (2)-horsepower (HP) motor, and four (4) controllers. a) Three (3) evaporative coolers shall be installed using existing cut-outs in the exterior siding and existing stand-mounts. b) One (1) evaporative cooler may necessitate modifying the existing exterior siding opening to accommodate a larger unit. c) A stand fabricated from angle iron of adequate strength shall be required to support one (1) evaporative cooler when it is filled with water. The stand shall be painted a color selected by Caltrans Contract Manager to ensure resistance to weather-related corrosion. 2) Main Shop North Side Contractor shall install one (1) horizontal draft evaporative cooler, Phoenix Brand Brisa Model BW5001, or equivalent, and one (1) controller, window-mounted in the same place as the removed unit. 3) Welding Shop North Side Contractor shall install one (1) horizontal draft evaporative cooler, Phoenix Brand AeroCool Model TH6801, or equivalent, and one (1) controller, wall-mounted in the same place as the removed unit. 4) Welding Shop East Wall Contractor shall install four (4) horizontal draft evaporative coolers, Phoenix Brand AeroCool Model TH6801, or equivalent, and one (1) controller, wall-mounted in the same place as the removed units.
