The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) is soliciting for 41 FT. Aerial Trucks. 3 (three) trucks to be purchased each year for 5 (five) years. The materials provided must meet all requirements and specifications listed below. 1. DESCRIPTION: The aerial bucket shall be at least a 41 ft. (46 ft. working height), articulated/telescopic (insulated) aerial device, with a man ½, 24 x30 x 42 end mount with 180 degree rotation fiberglass bucket. A utility body and various other features shall be furnished and mounted, complete and ready for operation on a truck chassis - cab. The design of this truck is for operation with at least one set of vertical outriggers. The assembled unit must meet all applicable OSHA, FMVSS, DOT, and ANSI A92.2 requirements, including stability tests, for a Category C aerial device. Each unit shall be new, and of a model in current production or an update of an existing model. Each unit shall be furnished with identical equipment, options, and features. Height to Bottom of Bucket (min.) 40.8’ ft. Working Height of Bucket (min.) 45.8’ ft. Horizontal Reach Over Side (min) 30.1’ ft Stowed Travel Height (max.) 11 ft. Rated Capacity of Bucket (min.) 400 lbs. Rated Capacity of Bucket with Rotator and Bucket Liner Installed (min) 350 lbs. 2. GENERAL: The units shall be of the latest design and in current production. They shall be furnished completely assembled, fully serviced, and ready for immediate operation. The right is reserved to reject any and all bids proposing to furnish equipment, which in the opinion of the Department's engineers and/or staff, is not satisfactory for the Department's use in the proposed application. Units supplied to this specification shall meet or exceed these requirements. 3. TRUCK CHASSIS-CAB The truck chassis-cab is part of this solicitation and shall be furnished by the vendor. The truck must be a current model, 84 inch CA, 22,000 lbs. GVWR, with a 300 HP (minimum) diesel engine, automatic transmission with 6-speed (minimum), and factory air conditioning. 3.1. The vendor shall mount the aerial device on the truck in accordance with the specifications and shall accept full responsibility and liability in transporting the completed unit to Columbia, South Carolina, relieving the Department of any loss, liability, or claim whatsoever incurred enroute.
