a. The District maintains two types of proprietary funds. The District uses an enterprise fund to account for its food service operation and an internal service fund to account for its warehouse operations. b. The District has five major governmental funds consisting of the General Fund, Special Revenue funds, which include Special Projects, and Educational Improvement Act, Capital Projects Fund, and Debt Service Fund. Pupil Activity Funds are treated as special projects. Food Service Funds and Internal Services Fund are treated as a proprietary type fund. c. The District has two charter schools, Richland One Middle College and Carolina School of Inquiry, which are reported as Discretely Presented Component Units. d. The District has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States (GFOA) and the Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting from the School Business Officials International (ASBO) for the past thirty-seven years. e. The District utilizes a fully integrated Management Information System called Munis, which is a product of Tyler Technologies.
