South Dakota State University is soliciting Statements of Interest from firms capable of providing professional architectural and engineering design services for the project referenced above. The design services for this project encompass program verification, planning, design, construction documentation, bidding, and construction administration. The renovation will upgrade building systems to meet current building codes, industry standards, campus design standards, and the contemporary needs of our students. Programmatic space changes will focus on developing shared common spaces and small study spaces while maintaining high quality private living areas that meet both current and future resident demands. Bathroom facilities will be upgraded to meet the changing needs of students and regulatory requirements. Occupant health and comfort will also be addressed with upgrades to the building heating, air conditioning, and ventilation systems. Daylight and views will be prioritized in common spaces to create comfortable and welcoming interior spaces. Additional service space will be provided to accommodate vertical circulation and required mechanical equipment.
