Contractor shall perform the following work on the resident housing building (approximately 74 feet (’) x 26’= 1,924 square feet (ft2). Contractor shall remove all 28 existing windows and replace with new energy efficient, dual pane windows. Contractor shall complete all incidental work required to replace windows. Any materials removed shall be returned to original location or replaced with like material of equal or better quality to match surrounding appearance to the satisfaction of Caltrans. For dimensions and locations of windows, see Attachment 7, Roof and Window and Attachment 3, As-Builts. C. Contractor shall perform the following work on the sand and salt storage building (approximately 98’ X 44’ ≈ 4,312 ft2). 1) Contractor shall remove the existing roofing system and replace with roofing system detailed in Attachment 7, Roof and Window. 2) Contractor shall remove and replace 2 inches (”) x 6” T&G sheathing with like material. 3) Contractor shall test roof joists for strength and integrity. See Roof Framing Plan of Attachment 3, As-Builts for location and size of roof joists. At the discretion of the Caltrans Contract Manager, remove and replace approximately 10 joists including any necessary material to fasten member. 4) Contractor shall abrasively blast and paint all steel framing of structure, unless member is designated to be replaced as defined in Exhibit A, Section 7, Item C, 5)- 7). Contractor shall take caution while performing work to ensure no damage to any other parts of the building occurs. Any damaged members shall be replaced with like material of equal or better quality at Contractor’s expense. 5) Contractor shall replace all bottom 6” U-girts (approximately 27) within the salt storage area. U-girts size and connections shall be in accordance with Attachment 3, As-Builts. 6) Contractor shall replace approximately 12 damaged ½” diameter sag rods at girts as outlined by Caltrans Contract Manager.
