UG Planning + Urban Design is soliciting qualifications to create Downtown Historic Design Guidelines. The associated project area is provided in ATTACHMENT 1. The goal of the proposal is to create and adopt historic design guidelines for Downtown KCK, incorporating previous longrange plans (see RELEVANT DOCUMENTS) associated with the area and fitting into the broader economic development strategies for the eastern portion of Wyandotte County. The historic design guidelines should be developed to incorporate future land use and zoning code requirements, the newly launched Main Street Program, and existing and desired neighborhood character. The historic design guidelines should consider the following principles: • Provide an accessible, multi-modal transportation friendly area • Incorporate the principles of Community for All Ages and Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design • Follow the goals and lenses of the PlanKCK Citywide Comprehensive Plan, Citywide Historic Preservation Plan, and Economic Development Strategic Plan
