Work generally includes: Installation of high-visibility crosswalk markings across side streets Installation of stop bars on side-street approaches Surface preparation and layout Temporary traffic control Coordination with City staff for scheduling and sequencing No curb, sidewalk, drainage, signal, or roadway geometry modifications are included in this scope. All crosswalks shall be ladder-style and installed at the intersections of side streets with the designated roads. The crosswalks shall consist of two (2) longitudinal transverse boundary lines with rectangular ladder bars placed perpendicular to the direction of travel. They shall extend the full width of the side-street pavement between curb faces or pavement edges and align with existing curb ramps or established travel paths. The crosswalks' overall width shall be 8’ with ladder bars 6’ x 1’ and 1’ boundary lines. Bars shall be spaced uniformly, typically 3’ between bars. Ladder bars shall not extend into the gutter pan or beyond the pavement edge unless directed by the City representative. Stop bars shall be 1’ wide and placed on the side street approach in advance of the crosswalk. The near edge of the crosswalk shall be located a minimum of 4’ downstream of the stop bar unless field conditions require adjustment. Material shall be a two (2) component MMA system, mixed and applied in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations. The material shall be capable of rapid curing and reopening traffic. Surface preparation shall ensure proper bonding to existing asphalt. Contractor shall provide MMA materials that meet industry standards for durability, color stability, and performance, consistent with products such as PlastiRoute SprayPlast CSP 98:2 or an approved equal.
