Participant Centered Service Uplift the values of DOR by promoting human dignity and empowering participants, which includes: a. Offering service in a manner that values participants’ dignity and eliminates shame, humiliation and stigma; b. Building on strengths of each participant, recognizing that their strengths have helped participants to survive loss and trauma; c. Recognizing that people marginalized by high-risk behaviors have the right to access services and be treated with dignity and respect; d. Acknowledging participants’ resilience as trauma survivors, while supporting and building upon these adaptive skills; and e. Recognizing how systemic racism and oppression affect participants and striving to create relationships and opportunities that promote equity and rebalance the power dynamic between participants and staff or perceived figures of authority. f. One-on-one mentoring during and post-training g. Job search assistance, including resume writing, interview preparation, and networking h. Support for addressing barriers to employment (e.g., transportation, childcare) i. Handling stress management and self-care while on the road
