RP-18 PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Charlotte County is seeking an experienced and qualified firm to provide catering services, supply bulk and/or boxed food meals, and other food supplies to the County's employees and emergency workers before and/or after an emergency or disaster event. a. When an emergency or disaster occurs or is imminent, the County will contact the Awarded Vendor holding a Disaster Food Catering Services Agreement to advise them of the County's intent to activate the Agreement. The Agreement will be activated immediately before and/or after an emergency or disaster in Charlotte County. The County reserves the right to exercise its discretion in making the determination of what constitutes a disaster and/or emergency event. b. No guarantee is expressed or implied as to the quantity of commodities and/or services to be procured under this request for proposal; no work is guaranteed. c. Anticipated disasters include, but are not limited to, storms, hurricanes, tornadoes, flooding, fires, homeland security activity, major police activity, acts of terrorism or other qualified events. d. Feeding requirements and needs shall be based on the severity of the disaster. e. The location included for this proposal is the EOC, 26571 Airport Road, Punta Gorda, FL 33982; however, the County reserves the right to add a Special Needs Shelter, by request, if needed for an emergency or disaster event. Note: Charlotte County has a separate contract in place for all other needed locations. f. Vendor shall be prepared to supply and provide service at the EOC during a lock-down period that can range from approximately 12 hours to 48 hours.
