Community Transit (CT) has a small sub-fleet of 30’ coaches that are nearing the end of their useful life. These coaches allow CT to operate in rural areas or neighborhoods that larger transit coaches could not. At this time, CT is also planning for a future fleet that is strictly zero-emission. Past research has not found a comparable zero-emission vehicle to replace our 30’ diesel coaches within terms of range performance and reliability. However, the zero-emission vehicle market is a rapidly evolving. Therefore, CT is seeking a Consultant to identify what vehicle options exist on the market as a replacement for our 30’ diesel fleet. With support from our Training Department, the Consultant will identify and analyze those maneuvers that limit the use of a larger vehicle and see if the recommended replacement (if found) can be operated in a similar manner to the 30’ fleet.
