The City of Anderson is requesting a proposal for running fiber optic cable down Main St. from West Reed St. to Tribble St. for the purpose of connecting new and existing cameras to expand and improve our security footprint. We are also planning for future expansion by adding additional "dark fiber" for future use. A total of 24 hand holes will be needed at the locations noted on the included map Implementation Plan An implementation plan should be presented that outlines the fiber path from end to end, confirms hand hole locations based on our requirements, and details the logistics of connecting the fiber run to the City’s network. • Pathing: Fiber will need to run from the main conduit line to each of the hand holes, then up each pole located next to each hand hole to be terminated. • Trenching: For the main fiber run down S. Main St., trenching will be considered. • Network Tie-in: City fiber connections are available to tie this fiber run into our current network infrastructure by way of existing hand holes at 601 S. Main St. (S. Main St. & River St.) and 401 S. Main St. (S. Main St. & John St.). Requirements The goal of this project is to install fiber downtown for connecting camera equipment along a portion of S. Main St. in Anderson, from Reed St. to Tribble St. The selected vendor will be responsible for: • Procuring all supplies that are considered industry standard in use and quality. • Trenching and boring operations. • Providing and installing conduit and hand holes. • Running fiber up each camera pole. • Testing all fiber terminations at each pole back to either 401 or 601 S. Main St.
