The purpose of this requestion, RFA is based upon our most recent community health assessment, many people in our district still do not fully comprehend or accept SUD or the importance of harm reduction measures. They lack information or have heard incorrect information, or they have not yet been personally affected by it. These individuals include law enforcement, municipal officials, school leaders and business professionals in addition to the public requiring targeted outreach. The Subrecipient will implement a community engagement project in partnership with our district to support the community engagement project described below. The purpose of this program is as follows: 1. Educate people in the WPHD about SUD and harm reduction as a critical strategy in addressing it to help reduce stigma around SUD and ensure better treatment of people experiencing it. 2. Engage with people who use drugs (PWUD) in the WPHD to promote recovery and better overall health among them as well as reducing overdose deaths in the area.
