Install a mural on one or both selected site locations (please see photos of site at the end of the document) • Work is expected to commence in Spring of 2026 and shall be completed no later than September 30th, 2027. • Site descriptions are as follows: o Site One: Canvas Public Parking Garage Address: 5334 Baltimore Avenue, Hyattsville, MD Maximum Available Funds: $20,000 Description: The new Canvas Public Parking Garage is located on Baltimore Avenue within what is colloquially known as the downtown area of Hyattsville. To create a welcoming and inviting feel to the Route One Corridor, the mural will be placed at the garage’s entrance and exit, establishing a sense of arrival that supports the pedestrianfriendly character the City aims to reinforce. This site is advantageously placed at the center of the Gateway Arts District, a state-designated arts and culture corridor known for its galleries, studios, and public art. Installing a mural here aligns with the district’s mission to support creative expression in public spaces and reinforces Hyattsville’s identity as a community that values and invests in the arts. o Site Two: New Hyattsville Teen Center Address: 5812 40th Avenue, Hyattsville, MD Maximum Available Funds: $10,000 Description: The Teen Center is located in the central part of the city just a few blocks from Hyattsville Middle School. This facility will serve as a dedicated space for youth programs and activities, and the City aims to leverage public art to help shape a welcoming an inclusive environment for teens. A mural on the exterior of this new public building can help establish the Center’s identity, reflect the creativity and diversity of Hyattsville’s youth, and signal that the building is a community space designed for them. As a new civic facility, the Teen Center offers a clean, high-visibility surface that can support public artwork. • Summary of costing/financing options; 2. Maintenance Requirements • The City of Hyattsville’s Department of Public Works, in conjunction with other actors and stakeholders, have the capabilities of cleaning and maintaining the installation. 3. Delivery and Installation of Equipment • Delivery and Installation of equipment i. The Firm shall state in its proposal the number of business days necessary for transportation of materials and installment of the art work. Firm must detail all anticipated expenses that will be incurred by the City of Hyattsville for the delivery and installation of art. The City will not be liable for expenses not detailed in the RFP response. The Firm shall invoice the City for delivery and installation upon written acceptance of the installation by the City.
