The University of New Mexico (UNM) seeks a consulting partner to manage and facilitate the President and Provost’s Taskforce and to develop a strategic, data-informed plan that ensures capacity, quality, and long-term sustainability across central campus schools, colleges, and branch campuses. UNM is preparing for significant expansion in its health professions programs, including planned doubling of enrollment in the School of Medicine, College of Pharmacy, and College of Nursing. This growth will place increased pressure on undergraduate programs, faculty, instructional resources, and academic infrastructure. UNM seeks a consulting partner to manage and facilitate the President and Provost’s Taskforce and to develop a strategic, data-informed plan that ensures capacity, quality, and long-term sustainability across central campus schools, colleges, and branch campuses. Consultant Responsibilities 1. Taskforce Management & Facilitation • Facilitate and manage the Health Professions Taskforce, including meeting planning, workshops, interactive sessions, and structured stakeholder engagement. • Lead collaborative discussions to assess current culture, systems, processes, and constraints related to undergraduate capacity for health professions growth. • Support regular advisement and progress reporting to the President, Provost, and EVP for Health Sciences. 2. Academic Program & Curriculum Analysis • Examine alignment between undergraduate curriculum and health-profession knowledge/skill requirements. • Review foundation and prerequisite course pathways and identify areas requiring redesign or innovation. • Facilitate academic leaders’ review of internal program data (curriculum, performance, productivity, capacity) and external market/labor demographics. 3. Enrollment Modeling, Capacity Assessment & Instructional Mix • Align undergraduate capacity with projected demand for service and prerequisite courses. • Assess mixed instructional needs (faculty, adjuncts, graduate teaching assistants) in line with the Health Professions Enrollment Growth Plan. • Analyze capacity related to space, laboratories, scheduling, delivery formats, equipment, and student services.
