The work covered under this solicitation shall consist of the labor, equipment, materials, tools, transportation, and incidentals necessary to mulch and/or mow all specified standing woody vegetation on up to 51.3 acres of brushland habitats within the Grand Rapids Wildlife Work Area located on Mud-Goose Wildlife Management Area (WMA) which is located approximately 15 miles southwest of Deer River, MN. The project will enhance woody browse availability for deer and regenerate brush and young forest for woodcock foraging, cover, and brood-rearing. Target vegetation consists primarily of more mature, larger diameter (5.0-11.0 inch diameter) quaking aspen, paper birch, balm of gilead, willow, alder, and other brush and tree species at Site 1, and willow, alder, dogwood, and other brush species at Site 2.
