The Gardner Edgerton School District (GESD) is soliciting proposals from qualified contractors to provide site preparation and repair services in connection with playground replacements at multiple district schools. Work will include site cleanup, topsoil placement, sod installation. Site Cleanup: Removal of construction debris, unsuitable soils, and vegetation as required to prepare each site for sod installation and grading. Cleanup must ensure that surfaces are level and free of obstructions prior to the placement of topsoil and sod. • The specific area of cleanup at each site will be agreed upon with the designated GESD point of contact (POC) prior to work commencing. • Topsoil Installation: Supply and placement of topsoil at varying depths, as determined by site conditions. • Sod Installation: Supply and installation of high-quality sod. Sod shall be laid tightly, watered immediately, and rolled to ensure proper contact with the soil. No netting shall be left on sod after placement. • Watering: Watering will be conducted by the district • Coordination with Playground Installer: The selected contractor will be required to work closely with the playground installer to ensure site cleanup and preparation occur promptly, after playground installation has concluded at each site. • Contractor shall provide a warranty for sod establishment for 60 days against failure due to improper installation.
