1. Remove all layers of shingle and replace, • Shingles, GAF Timberline Natural Shadow Charcoal Algae Resistant Architectural Shingles with GAP Roofing # 15 Roofing Felt underlayment. • Roofing Materials are assumed to be asbestos-containing. Contractor to use safe practices during removal and disposal. Must be done professionally. General contractor to provide documentation of proper asbestos disposal. 2. Gables and Eves – Contractor to remove and replace all loose and rotten wood on the east and west side of home, around the gables & eaves. • Decorative supports in brick are to be removed • Brick gap to be patched with plywood cut to fit openings and painted white to match soffit and gutters • Contractor to support roof as needed. 3. Contractor to replace all facia and repair any rotten rafters and patch roof decking. • Contractor to install 2 layers of facia, a facia and sub facia. • Repair of rotten rafters will require removal of the rotten portion of the rafter and sistering a new pressure treated board of the same size. The new board must overlap the existing, a minimum of 3ft. and be attached with a heavy duty construction adhesive and ½” carriage bolts with large washers, spaced about 12” apart. • New boards must be trimmed for facia installation with no waves. • Roof decking to be repaired where exhausts were previously eliminated. 4. Contractor to replace all existing gutter, and downspouts, and install a vented soffit. • Facia to be wrapped white aluminum facia trim that matches gutters. • Install new 5 inch white, aluminum, k-style, seamless gutters, drip edge, & downspouts. Gutters shall slope continuously toward collection inlets and shall be free of leaks. Gutters and downspouts shall have a slope of not less than 1/8 inch per foot along their entire length. Gutters and downspouts shall be installed so that water does not pool at any point. • Downspouts to match the size of the existing. Downspouts to discharge away from foundation into 24 inch green vinyl splash block. • Install white vinyl soffit. Contractor to size appropriately. Soffit shall be white and match the gutters soffit vents shall be installed. Contractor to space appropriately. Vents shall be perforated and match the solid soffit being installed.
