The Alabama Department of Workforce is seeking a bid solicitation to generate a janitorial contract for Birmingham and Huntsville Career Centers.. OFFICE AREAS, BREAKROOM, AND CONFERENCE ROOMS: WASTEBASKETS AND TRASH CONTAINERS: Wastepaper containers and other waste receptacles must be emptied and returned to original locations. Plastic liners will be furnished as needed, by ADOW. Replace all obviously soiled or torn liners. All waste must be collected and removed to a central waste disposal area designated by ADOW. DESKS, CHAIRS, AND FILE CABINETS: Desks and file cabinets must not be touched. Chairs must be dusted on all horizontal surfaces. Fabric-upholstered seats and arm and side chairs are to be spot cleaned with a water-based shampoo or foam upholstery cleaner. All chairs are to be placed in original positions to maintain an overall orderly and neat appearance. COMPUTER STATIONS: Clean, dust, and sanitize all computer stations and chairs. NOTE: Computers and keyboards will be cleaned by the Career Center. BREAKROOMS: Tile floors, located in the employee breakroom, are to be damp mopped. Countertops, tabletops, appliances, and sinks are to be kept clean. GENERAL DUSTING: The following surfaces and items must be hand dusted, using a treated cloth or, when needed, a damp cloth: miscellaneous cabinets, windowsills, coat racks, ledges, and shelves under six feet in height. Telephones and other desktop accoutrements must not be touched. NOTE: Desktop personal effects such as vases and other decorations must not be handled. CARPETS: Carpets must be vacuumed in traffic lanes and around desks with particular attention given to knee-well areas. WALLS: Wall surfaces around light switches, handrails, knobs, and other heavy trafficked areas are to be spot cleaned when observed. Special care must be given to the wall covering/paint. Light switches, handrails, and doorknobs must be cleaned with disinfecting wipes. TILE FLOORS: All tile floor areas are to be dust mopped with chemically treated dust mops. Spills and stains are to be spot mopped daily, taking care to get under furniture, into corners, and the edge of walls and doorways. GLASS PARTITIONS: Where applicable, interoffice glass panels are to be spot cleaned to remove fingerprints and smudges. DOOR HANDLES: Sanitize all door handles. CORRIDORS AND LOBBY: All trash must be picked up. The area must be maintained by sweeping, dust mopping, or mopping with soap and water, whichever is appropriate. Fabric-coated entrance mats are to be vacuumed. Rubber or vinyl mats are to be swept or brushed and damp cleaned, as the situation dictates.
