The proposed method for expanding service will involve HACP issuing a contract with a vendor that is capable of providing regular delivery of food to the communities listed above and to do so in a manner that is safe, reliable and efficient. The selected vendor will be required to provide regular deliveries (at least once per month, per community) in accordance with a schedule that is developed with and approved by HACP staff. HACP is not able to provide onsite locations for distribution at these communities and will require the vendor to provide a self-contained, mobile distribution system – such as using a refrigerated food truck. HACP is encouraging a food distribution system that meets the needs of the HACP’s residents. Food deliveries should consist of primarily (at least 80 percent): fresh produce, meats, fish, dairy, or cheese products; with the remaining product (no more than 20 percent) consisting of: nonperishable goods, such as canned or boxed items.
