The Virginia Department of Health, Office of Drinking Water (VDH ODW), requires the services of a qualified contractor to support the implementation of Phase 4 of its PFAS monitoring initiative. This phase focuses on small public water systems (PWS) that rely on groundwater and serve populations of 10,000 or fewer. To meet the requirements of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) National Primary Drinking Water Regulation (NPDWR) for PFAS, VDH ODW needs a contractor to: Plan and coordinate PFAS sampling activities across approximately 850 groundwater-based PWS throughout the Commonwealth. Collect and process drinking water samples in accordance with EPA Method 533 and applicable quality assurance protocols. Conduct laboratory analysis using VELAP-accredited laboratories with certification for EPA Method 533. Ensure data quality through rigorous QA/QC procedures, including field blanks, duplicates, and proper documentation. Report results in a timely and accurate manner, including electronic data deliverables and summary reports that compare findings to applicable MCLs and regulatory thresholds.
