The Newark Board of Education seeks to contract with organizations and our Institutions of Higher Education (IHE) authorized by the New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) to offer endorsement courses for educators in high need-need Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) and Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TOSD) areas. We anticipate to enroll 40 candidates per two-year period. The IHE shall offer NJDOE approved Add-On Endorsement Certification programs for holders of Certificate of Eligibility (CE) (including limited), Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing (CEAS), and Standard Certificates in: o Teacher of Students with Disabilities(2475) The IHE shall offer NJ DOE approved Alternate Route (including Limited CE) Initial Certification programs in: o Teacher of Biological Science (2210) o Teacher of Chemistry (2270) o Teacher of Physics (2260) o Teacher of Mathematics (1900) The IHE shall offer NJ DOE Approved Alternate Route Shortage Area Initial Certification programs (for non-majors) in: o Teacher of Biological Science (2210) o Teacher of Chemistry (2270) o Teacher of Physics (2260) o Teacher of Mathematics (1900)
