Project Description: This project involves retrofitting the two existing Teaching and Research Greenhouses to support the Experimental Mesocosm Research and Training (MERT) program focused on sediment remediation. Within the greenhouses, the work will include adding a containment curb, filling gaps in the existing concrete slabs, and leveling and sealing the slab surfaces. Portions of the siding in both greenhouses will be removed as part of the retrofit. The scope also includes installing utility sinks that will pump to an aboveground storage tank, as well as updating the electrical system. Site work will involve installing a chain-link fence with slats and gates around the project area and constructing an accessible path connecting the MERT facility to the existing accessible route. This work will also include adding culverts beneath a new sidewalk that crosses the existing cobbled drainage swale.
