The objective of this project is to develop a comprehensive design that will clean up, mitigate, reduce, and where feasible, prevent the destructive impacts of future mudslides at Wilderness Park. While it is recognized that such natural hazards cannot be fully eliminated, the City seeks to implement effective measures that will safeguard public safety, minimize damage to park facilities and natural resources, and provide resilient infrastructure capable of withstanding future events. In addition, the project objective includes establishing a clear understanding of the current site conditions by quantifying the volume of soil deposition caused by prior mudslide events. The Consultant shall provide accurate excavation and grading quantity estimates, along with a detailed cost estimate for cleanup and removal. These findings will form the foundation for a bid-ready package that allows the City to contract for soil removal, slope stabilization, drainage resolution and preventative improvements with confidence in scope, costs, and long-term benefits.
