During the course of a three-year period, the City of Lawrence may require plumbing repair or replace services and/or installation at any of its city-owned buildings. The City of Lawrence does not represent that it will utilize Contractor’s services any guaranteed number of times over the course of the one-year period. Contractor shall: Provide services on an as-needed basis to numerous city-owned buildings (facilities include toilets, sinks, water coolers, piping, etc.); Be available 24 hours per day 7 days per week for emergency situations and respond promptly; Be flexible in terms of scheduling non-emergency work to meet the needs of the city’s schedule; Provide maximum continuity of service personnel as possible; and Supply all necessary tools and equipment to perform the work as requested. Any job exceeding ten thousand dollars ($10,000.00) shall be submitted to the city’s building and facilities manager for review. The City of Lawrence reserves the right to place out to bid any job that is estimated to go over this amount. Contractor must comply with all local and State laws, rules and regulations for a plumber and possess a valid State of Massachusetts Master Plumber's License and Gas Fitter’s License as applicable. At the request of the City, the Contractor shall submit a detailed cost estimate to the City and obtain City approval in writing prior to commencing work. In the event of a change in the scope of the work, City approval in writing must be obtained prior to proceeding with the work. All work shall be done between 8:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M., Monday through Friday, excluding legal holidays, unless otherwise directed by the City. Work done at other times shall be compensated at a maximum of time and one half. All materials shall be new and of satisfactory quality. All workmanship shall conform to the best practice in the trade and be performed by skilled and licensed labor in the field and comply with all federal, state and municipal laws and regulations. The City will reject any unsatisfactory services. All services shall be guaranteed for a period of one year. The Contractor shall have full responsibility for the performance of the services under this contract and shall not subcontract any portion of the services without the prior approval of the City. Any approved Subcontractor shall accept and fully comply with the terms and conditions of the contract and the Contractor shall be responsible for any unsatisfactory performance by said Subcontractor. The City reserves the right to inspect all work, either in progress or upon completion. In the event the work is deemed unsatisfactory, the Contractor will be notified and will have forty - eight (48) hours to correct the deficient work. Failure to make corrections will be cause for contract termination.
